Anime Maid in Abyss is an animated television series and theater production based on Akihito Tsukushi's manga. The first season aired in 2017. The second season, Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, began airing in July 2022.
アビスと呼ばれる巨大な縦穴は、世界で最後の未踏の地。この巨大な縦穴の奥深くには、奇妙で不思議な生物が生息し、謎の古代遺物がたくさん眠っている。何世代にもわたり冒険者たちが、アビスの謎めいた魅力に引き込まれ、奈落に挑み続けている。探窟家に憧れる主人公の少女「リコ」は、記憶を失ったロボットの少年「レグ」と共にアビスの底を目指す。
The enormous cave system, known as the Abyss, is the last unexplored place in the world. Nobody knows how deep down goes this titanic pit, inhabited by strange and wondrous creatures and full of mysterious ancient relics. For generations, adventurers have been drawn by the mysterious allure of the Abyss and continue to challenge the abyss. The main character, a young girl named "Rico," who yearns to become a caveman, sets out for the bottom of the Abyss with a robot boy named "Reg," who has lost his memory.
