道尾秀介の『向日葵の咲かない夏』を紹介。
初めて読んだときの衝撃が忘れられない。

あらすじ
夏休みを迎える終業式の日。先生に頼まれ、欠席した級友の家を訪れた。きい、きい。妙な音が聞こえる。Ｓ君は首を吊って死んでいた。だがその衝撃もつかの間、彼の死体は忽然と消えてしまう。一週間後、Ｓ君はあるものに姿を変えて現れた。「僕は殺されたんだ」と訴えながら。僕は妹のミカと、彼の無念を晴らすため、事件を追いはじめた。あなたの目の前に広がる、もう一つの夏休み。
感想(そこまでネタバレなし)
完全に好みの分かれる本。自分はかなり好き。ストーリーは序盤から引き込まれて飽きないし、物語がイメージしやすい。でも読後感は良くないし、全体的に鬱展開な小説。
主人公が可哀想。ラストで明かされる真相はえっ！！ってなる。正直笑う。そうだったのねと。
全体的な雰囲気とどんでん返し含めて、今まで読んだ本の中ではかなり好きなほうの作品。
This novel is separated from likes and dislikes. The story draw me in from the beginning and keeps me interested, and the story is easy to visualize. But it's not a good read, and it's an overall depressing novel. I feel sorry for the main character. The truth revealed at the end makes me surprised. To be honest, I laughed. I thought, "Was that so..." This is one of my favorite books I've ever read, including the overall atmosphere and interesting twist.
